Pouty lips

Yes it's lip time. Many wonders how to get that plump and younger looking lips, here is what I do. First, I put a lip primer all over my lips and extending a little bit outside as well. the primer is to make sure that my lipstick does not bleed. Then I line my lips all around carefully with short strokes and fill in the lips. I put the liner so that my lipstick doesn't fade. Ladies, don't choose a liner that's darker than your lipstick, it's not the 1970's anymore, lol. Then I put on a lipstick on and finish with a lipgloss. I put the gloss only on the centre of my bottom lips. This will give my lips a fuller look and a bit of shine. I don't like to put a lipgloss all over the lips since it tends bleed and feel too sticky. If you are going to a party, I suggest putting a concealer all around your lips and blending it in to really seal the lip colour from bleeding outside. I hope you learnt something new and can make that envious look now:)

Gorgeous eyes

Beautiful eye makeup can totally change the look of a person from dull to gorgeous. There's a misconception that some people can only wear certain coloured eyeshadows because of their eye colour. Though purples look good on green eyes, browns on blue eyes and so on, that doesn't mean those are the only colours to wear. What's more important is the right application of eyeshadow according to the shape of one's eyes. Also, pay attention to the skin type of your lid. If you have dry lids, cream eyeshadows would work for you. If you have oily leads, stick to powder eyeshadows. I like waterproof eyeliner and mascara because they don't smudge. I will post more details on different products later on.

Face: Fabulous and Flawless, oh yah!

Okay, so I will start my first actual makeup post with the face. Some people are born with fab skin, but some of us gotta work hard to put our best face forward. It's really important to clean and moisturize your skin twice a day. But I have a very acne prone skin, and I feel that using a toner in between cleanser and moisturizer is necessary to minimize my acne. An eye cream is also good if you have some extra money on hand. I use a lighter eye cream for daytime and a creamier one at night.

I had to do a lot of experimentation to find the perfect foundation shade for me. However, I don't like liquid foundation at all (I have combination skin). I like to use mineral foundation in the winter for sheer cover. During the summer, I use a sunscreen and put powder over it that matches my skin colour. I also put a liquid concealer under my dark circles and mineral concealer on acne spots.

When I am looking for the real flawless skin, I put a primer under my foundation which helps to hide pores and makes the foundation application smooth. I layer my mineral foundation for full coverage on special occasions. I have a chubby face and I find Highlighting and contouring my face makes it looks slimmer. I opt out of blush most of the time. I guess I covered the basic introduction, but don't forget that diet has a lot to do with good skin. A healthy diet and exercise doesn't only make you healthy and fit, but also makes your skin and hair glow.

Experience the joy of Makeup

The first thing that comes in my mind when I think about makeup is it should always be fun. You shouldn't try to cover all the defects up to create a cakey face, rather makeup should enhance your natural beauty. Less is often more when you do your foundation. But you definitely can do bright, fun colours on your eyes if neutrals bore you. I like bright eyes, rosy cheeks and neutral lips.

Face, eyes or lips, if you are just starting out with makeup, you may need to do some experimentation. For example, finding the right shade for your foundation may be quiet hard specially for darker skins. And there are so many types of foundations, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes out there now that it can be very overwhelming. But it gets easier with time to choose the right product for your skin type and colour and your need and style.

I am a student and on a budget and would like to give you perspectives on some drug store brand cosmetics. I might occasionally include some high end products as well. I wasted lots of money on products that I didn't like after buying. I hope my product reviews will help you save money and find the joy of makeup as I did. Check my blog regularly to know more about particular products and make sure to have fun.
